Extreme Tattooing

July 17, 2008

— For those who are heavily into bodily modification, tattooing has ventured into the extreme of the corneal tattoo.–That’s right; they tattoo the whites of your eyes!  The effect can be, err, rather disconcerting.  A syringe is used rather than the traditional tattoo needle to inject and spread the dye.  Doctors will consult about the procedure, but usually do not perform them, leaving that to specialized tattoo artists.  Medical reasons for a corneal tattoo might include burning or scarring of the cornea, which such a tattoo can cover.  There are certainly risks, such as perforation of the eye or infection.  Some who have had the procedure say it feels like something is in your eye.

Don’t that make your brown eyes blue?–Now you, too, may have kaleidoscope eyes! I’ll stick to my regular tattoos, thank you very much!

Catwoman Rules!

July 17, 2008

Catwoman is an awesome character who first appeared in 1940.  Aka Selina Kyle, she is an accomplished athlete known for her cat-like speed, agility, balance, and reflexes.  She had been through several re-makes over the years, but was most recently played by Michelle Pfeiffer in Batman Returns (1992) and by Halle Berry as a stand-alone character in Catwoman (2004). Batman and Catwoman have had an on-again, off-again romance over the years, and are reputed to have had a child, who appeared as Huntress in a short-lived TV series on a minor network.

Catwoman … sigh…I’d skritch her any time!!!
