Chantix Commercial, “It’s Time to Quit Slow Turkey”
Well, the holly-daze are over, and the winter doldrums are upon us…and just like many of us, the Chantix turkey in a recent commercial fights boredom by finding ways to fill his time.
And fill his time at home he does! He gets his mail, watches fish in an aquarium, and even works on a jigsaw puzzle…I could never get into that. The turkey even takes to his kitchen, and makes some kind of concoction in his blender that includes (what else) a generous infusion of bird seed. The Chantix Turkey can take his time, ‘ya see, to quit smoking slow turkey…
Since the Chantix turkey lives in a nicer home than I do, I wonder how he earns his living…and disturbingly, I have something in common with him. No, I don’t smoke, but I also need to get a life…and wouldn’t the Chantix Turkey at Home be a better reality series than most that are now on? I’ve watched far worse bird brains…

He stayed indoors at home, during the Holidays, not because he lacked any plans for them. But, more likely, because too many Holiday-goers had too many plans for him!*
* “Please, sir! I want some more…of both white meat and dark.”

Btw: I’ve just been informed there’s a new TV commercial out where the Planter’s Peanut mascot apparently falls from a great height…
…and dies of shell-shock.

The inference is that he sacrificed himself to save his companions, who are also hanging perilously from the same fragile branch that he is as the result of an accident. He always was a classy guy, with his cane, top hat, and monocle…I’ll miss him!

You have channeled Fudd perfectly! Did you know that a number of hunting groups despise the character as he makes them look like buffoons? I, of course, will ever be on the side of Bugs…

Then, you’d probably LOVE the 1952 Bugs Buny cartoon “Foxy By Proxy.” Wherein he matches wits with a St. Bernard-sized foxhound patterned after Lenny (Lon Chaney, Junior’s character from “Of Mice And Men”).
