Something Fishy Goin’ On?
— Believe it or not, there appears to be a live-action Aquaman movie in the works, with the star yet undecided! Aquaman has come a long way since his rather insipid portrayal as a whale-summoner in old ‘toon shows like SuperFriends; more recent incarnations have portrayed a superhero with an edge; buff, wounded, and with some anger issues. The poor guy was one of the few without a secret identity; he was always Aquaman, 24/7!
Movies are also being planned for The Green Arrow, and even a Bizarro (Superman) flick! –And get this: they’re trying to convince Cher to play Catwoman! She always did strike me as having feline qualities…
…it’s a great time to be alive, right? 😉

Personally, I think the Filmation Aquaman (1967-68), voiced by Marvin Miller, was much cooler than the one voiced by Norm Alden, for H-B, in the 1970’s.

My favorite Aquaman is that appearing in “Batman: The Brave & The Bold;” he’s almost Shakespearean! This Aquaman is voiced by comedy voice actor John DiMaggio, who also does “Bender” in ‘Futurama.’
As DiMaggio said of Aquaman in one interview, “I’m the king of Atlantis…bring it! Come on down in the water. I’ve got a hammerhead shark for your ass.–Let’s go!”

As to Cher playing Catwoman? Didn’t Hollywood do enough damage with Halle Berry’s portrayal? Now, if Cher were to play Wonder Woman, or Zatanna, that would be something!*
*Reviewer closes eyes and grins lasciviosly at mental image of aforementioned actress/singer wearing top hat, tuxedo, fishnet stockings and high heels.

Maybe Cher would stop Batman in his tracks by breaking into song, something like “Believe?” Then at the end of the flick, perhaps a rendition of “I Got You, Babe?”

If Cher were playing Zatanna, she’d have to pronounce the titles “eveileB” or “I toG uoY, ebaB.”
