Green Polar Bears?
–At the Singapore Zoo, the fur of their 13-year-old polar bear and her son turned green due to harmless algae growth in their hollow hair shafts. Polar bears appear white because normally these shafts reflect light.
—The treatment?–Hydrogen peroxide bleaching!

Algae getting into fur isn’t that unusual. It happens with South American tree sloths all the time!
